Slugs of New Zealand

FamilyAthoracophoridae NZ statusNative

Northland to Wellinton/d’Urville Island. Very variable in colouration/pigmentation. Wellington form has been named. My anatomical and molecular work suggests a species complex – northern North Island and Mt Taranaki populations distinct species. Has been confused with A. bitentaculatus but more papillate.
