Phalangium opilio

Phalangium opilio is an introduced European harvestman that is now well established in New Zealand. It occurs particularly in open and modified environments such as pasture, gardens and horticultural land, and can become locally abundant. A Nelson pasture study found it among the most abundant invertebrates captured in late summer pitfall traps.
