Hexathele sp.

Hexathele is an endemic New Zealand genus of mygalomorph tunnelweb spiders. Species construct tubular silk retreats beneath stones, in soil banks, tree cavities and beneath loose bark. Numerous species are recognised throughout New Zealand, and many are externally similar, meaning reliable species identification can depend on adult reproductive and other diagnostic morphological characters.
