FamilyAnyphaenidae GenusAmaurobioides

Amaurobioides is a genus of coastal spiders in the family Anyphaenidae. They are specialised for life on rocky shorelines, where they build silk retreats in cracks and crevices within the sea spray zone. Several species occur in New Zealand, although their taxonomy remains uncertain. This individual has therefore been identified to genus level only.
