Millipedes of New Zealand
Species profile
Millipedes of
GenusMillipedes
New Zealand millipedes are commonly found in damp places such as under logs, bark, and leaf litter, where they shelter during the day and come out to feed at night. Millipedes mainly feed on decaying plant material and help break down organic matter. They are most active in moist conditions and do not tolerate dry environments well.
