Pterophorus furcatalis is an endemic New Zealand plume moth associated with native forest. Its larvae feed on Pittosporum, including lemonwood (Pittosporum eugenioides), while adults are most often encountered from November to March and will come to light at night. The finely divided wings give the moth the delicate, feather-like appearance characteristic of the plume moth family.
