Cebysa leucotelus

Cebysa leucotelus is an Australian bag moth that became established in New Zealand after first being recorded in Auckland around 1980. The larvae live inside small portable silken cases decorated with fragments of lichen, feeding on lichens growing on tree trunks, rocks and walls. Unlike many bag moths, the adult female is fully winged and strikingly patterned with metallic colours.
