Ichneutica purdii

Ichneutica purdii is a distinctive endemic New Zealand noctuid found throughout the main islands. Its larvae feed mainly on Astelia species and shelter deep within the plant during the day before emerging to feed at night. The adult is easily recognised by its deep pinkish forewings with orange markings and dark hindwings.
