Feredayia graminosa is an endemic New Zealand moth whose larvae feed on the leaves of māhoe (Melicytus ramiflorus). Large numbers of caterpillars can heavily defoliate their host plants, which is where the name māhoe stripper comes from. Adults are mainly seen during spring and early summer.
