New Zealand is home to an impressive diversity of moths & butterflies, with over 1,800 known species, and around 90% being endemic, means they are only found here in New Zealand and found nowhere else in the world. These moths play a vital role in ecosystems as pollinators, food for other biodivesty, and can often be indicators of environmental health.
