West coast green gecko (Naultinus tuberculatus)
The West Coast Green Gecko (Naultinus tuberculatus) is an endemic gecko found in the western South Island of New Zealand. It is a robust green gecko with intricate moss-like patterning, which helps it blend into shrubs and forest vegetation.
Like other green geckos in the genus Naultinus, it is mainly active by day and is highly arboreal, spending much of its time in dense vegetation. This species is also considered threatened and faces pressure from habitat loss and illegal collection.
