White-tailed Spider (Lampona murina)
Lampona murina is a species of white-tailed spider native to Australia and introduced to New Zealand, where it is commonly found in homes and gardens.
These spiders are active hunters, mainly nocturnal, and known for preying on other spiders, in particular Badumna and other desid spiders. Despite widespread myths, bites from L. murina are not considered medically significant.
