Web Building Spiders
This album features a range of New Zealand web-building spiders covering a wide range of families and genera. These spiders use silk to construct webs for catching prey, and their web shapes, structure, and placement can vary greatly between families.
New Zealand’s web-building spiders include both endemic and introduced species, from delicate sheet-web builders to large orb-weavers. As this album grows, more families and species will be added to better reflect the diversity of web-building spiders found throughout New Zealand.
