Colaranea vertutum
Colaranea verutum is an endemic New Zealand orb-weaving spider. It is a variable species in both colour and pattern, but is often recognised by its green and reddish-brown tones and pale markings on the abdomen.
Like other orb-weavers, it builds a circular web to catch flying insects and is usually found sitting quietly in or near the web. It is known from New Zealand and is one of four Colaranea species which are endemic to New Zealand
