Cryptaranea spp

Cryptaranea is a genus of endemic New Zealand orb-weaving spiders in the family Araneidae. The genus was established in 1988

These spiders are generally small and well camouflaged, often blending in with bark, leaves, or surrounding vegetation. Like other orb-weavers, they build circular webs to catch flying insects.
