I’m a self-taught New Zealand nature photographer with a particular interest in invertebrates, native flora, fungi and wildlife.

For more than 20 years I have photographed species throughout New Zealand, with a strong focus on documenting native and endemic species clearly and at a standard suitable for research, publication and large-format printing.

Much of my work focuses on the smaller species that are easily overlooked.

Documenting New Zealand’s biodiversity.

My aim is to photograph and document the incredible biodiversity found across New Zealand, with a particular focus on invertebrates and the smaller species that are often overlooked.

From spiders and insects to birds, flora, fungi and other wildlife, I want my photographs to be visually strong while also creating useful records of the species I encounter, their detail, diversity and natural behaviour.

The more closely you look, the more there is to see.
